With a degree in Graphic Design and a PGCE, both from Middlesex University, Sarah has taught Art and Design in London and Oxfordshire schools since 1993. In 2019 she took a break from teaching to return to full time education, graduating in 2020 with an MFA in Fine Art (Distinction) from Oxford Brookes University. Sarah works from her home studio just outside Oxford and continues to teach art part time.
Sarah’s practice evolves from her interactions with monumental and concrete buildings. Her modular sculptures and wall based works are inspired by the formation and behaviour of shadows cast within these architectural environments. She is particularly interested in the role of materiality and colour in determining how these spaces are
perceived.
Sarah exhibits nationally and internationally and is a member of several artist groups including ArtCan, Oxford Art Society and Portable Collective, Oxford. Recent exhibitions include ING Discerning Eye and Wales Contemporary, 2023.
For Connected 111, Sarah will be presenting a set of Brutalist inspired sculptures with a set of unique screen prints.
